In this video you will see Colin at Buffalo Dent Repair fix a long crease on a Cadillac Escalade. This dent affects both the rear door and quarter panel, which makes for a difficult repair. Our repair process involves first applying heat to the panel to allow for a more malleable metal and paint. Next the rear window is rolled down, a metal window guard placed between the window and door skin, and a specialized dent repair tool is inserted to start manipulating the backside.
A crease like this will take hundreds if not thousands of very small individual pushes in order to fully repair. It is a very meticulous and time consuming process.
The quarter panel crease required a very different repair method as the backside of the panel is not accessible with a regular PDR tool. This requires us to use the glue pulling method, which involves using specialized hot glue and plastic tabs to pull the damage out. Several tool manufacturers produce highly specific tool for glue pulling at a high level. It is a very time consuming process, but one that can result in a fantastic repair.
